Brandon Woodruff whiffed 12 batters and Nick Ahmed had 2 base hits as the

Woodruff(2-1) was solid in the win. He allowed just 5 hits and no walks in 7
innings. After the 2nd inning, neither team was able to score.
Oliver Drake recorded the save, his 3rd. Jeff Samardzija(1-1) was the loser.
'Everything felt great' Woodruff said. 'I had a good fastball, I felt I could
throw it by everybody tonight.'
