Palatine Cubs beat the Holland Heffalumps in 10 innings by the score of 11 to
9.
The game was deadlocked at 9 after nine full innings. Palatine was victorious
in the 10th inning. After two outs Cesar Hernandez initiated the scoring
spurt when he drew a walk. Mike Moustakas followed next and he ripped a
single. Anthony Rizzo then stroked a single resulting in a run. Kris Bryant
was up next and he laced a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning. It
was roller coaster of a game as the lead change hands 5 times.
Roberto Osuna(1-0) was the winner allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Brandon
Kintzler preserved the game for Osuna, recording his his 1st save. Jason
Vargas(0-2) took the loss in relief. He surrendered 2 runs and 2 hits in 1
