Center fielder Albert Almora Jr cracked 2 homeruns as the Dublin Pubcrawlers
ballclub embarrassed the Dyersville Jurassics by the count of 16 to
5.
Almora Jr was spectacular at the plate. The hometown fans showed their
appreciation with a standing ovation his last time at bat. He ripped a
base-hit in the 2nd inning, caught a hold of a fastball for a Grand Slam
homerun in the 6th inning and rifled a three-run blast in the 7th inning.
Dublin kept the scorekeepers busy in the 6th inning with 7 runs on 5 hits and
the 7th inning which saw them score 5 runs on 4 hits. Dyersville was out-hit
by Dublin, 16 hits to 11.
The victory was credited to Madison Bumgarner(1-0) who went 7 innings,
allowing 4 runs. The loss was charged to Yonny Chirinos(0-1). He got
hammered, allowing 11 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings.
'It's just about getting in a good hitting position and just going out there
and being prepared,' Almora Jr said. 'You try to hit in your own capacity and
not do too much. I just try to have a good approach, day after day, game by
game, and pitch by pitch.'
