Jacob Degrom whiffed 11 batters as the Aarlington Aardvarks topped the
Hollywood Marines by a score of 4 to 1 at the ballpark.
Degrom(17-5) looked very much in control throughout the night. He allowed
only 5 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings. The Hollywood bats were silent in the
9th.
Tyler Clippard got the save, his 6th. Marcus Stroman(6-9) was tagged with the
loss. He pitched 4 and 2/3 innings and surrendered 4 hits and 3
walks.
Degrom was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my
pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The fans really got
into the game too - that always helps me. Now, if I can only do that again
in my next outing.'
