The Holland Heffalumps nipped the Aarlington Aardvarks in 11 innings 5 to 4 at
the ballpark in a hard fought contest.
Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. Holland won it in
the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Nolan Arenado got things rolling
when he smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly'. Jed Lowrie came next and he drew a
walk. Enrique Hernandez then laced a base-hit. Elias Diaz stepped in and he
stroked a single scoring the final run of the inning. Holland had 9 hits
overall, while Aarlington had 5.
Jared Hughes(10-2) got the win allowing 1 run in 3 and 1/3 innings. Adam
Ottavino recorded his 21st save. The losing pitcher was Derek Holland(5-11)
in relief.
The winning ways continue for Holland. They now have a record of 8-2 in
recent days. With the loss, Aarlington has a record of 5-5 lately, 70-77
overall.
