Giancarlo Stanton slammed 2 homeruns and had 8 RBI as the spectacular Holland
Heffalumps bested the Oakland Athletics 14 to 8 at Wrigley Field.
Stanton was a one-man wrecking crew. He clubbed a three-run home run in the
1st inning, launched a three-run homer in the 6th inning and slapped a single
in the 8th inning. Holland kept the pressure on throughout the contest as
they scored in 6 different innings.
The victory was credited to Jesse Biddle(7-1) who went 2 and 2/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Chris Stratton(2-9) was hit with the loss. 'Actually, I
didn't feel that comfortable at the plate tonight' Stanton said after the
game. 'Despite that, I'm happy with the results!
