Tony Kemp hit one over the fence and had 2 RBI as the Tampico Stogies rallied
impressively to win in dramatic style over Hollywood Marines, 4 to
3.
Tampico scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning with 2 runs on 2 hits.
Kyle Seager led off and started the rally when he reached on an error. Kemp
followed and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Brett Gardner then ripped a
single scoring a one-base hit run. One out later, Brandon Lowe stepped up to
the plate and he drew a walk. Travis Shaw came to the plate and singled
giving Tampico the win much to the delight of the home town crowd. Tampico
had 13 hits overall, while Hollywood had 8.
Tony Sipp(1-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. Hector
Santiago(1-3) was given the loss in relief. Mike Aldrich was ebullient after
the game, 'It's great to win a hard fought game like that. Our guys just
weren't going to be denied. And did you see the fans - they were going wild!
Yes sir, a very enjoyable win tonight!'
