39,451 fans were treated to a fine game at Leones Field as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Caracas Leones won by the
slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.
In the 2nd inning Caracas scored 2 runs. Bryce Harper kicked off the action
when he drew a walk. One out later, Austin Barnes got his chance to keep
things going, but he went down on strikes. Salvador Perez then smashed a
two-run homer. The pitchers took over after the 4th inning as neither team
was able to score again.
The winning pitcher was Hyun-Jin Ryu(2-2) who allowed 3 runs in 8 innings. Ryu
was helped out by Cody Allen who recorded his 8th save. Noah
Syndergaard(7-7) ended up with the loss.
