Vernon pitcher Max Scherzer(9-6) gave up the game's only run in the bottom of
the 2nd inning. After an out was recorded, Trevor Story hit a bases-empty
home run. That was all the offense they were to need. Vernon made it
exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.
