separated the combatants at game's end. The Oakland Athletics won by the
slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.
Oakland scored 2 runs in the decisive bottom of the 4th inning. Hollywood
threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.
Nick Pivetta(5-7) allowed 4 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Jordan Hicks recorded his 11th save. Marco Estrada(1-7) was the
losing pitcher. He was touched for 10 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.
Wth the win Oakland now has a record of 38-52. With the loss Hollywood now
has a record of 40-50.
