Carlos Gonzalez hit a homerun and had 4 RBI as the San Ybel Islanders defeated
the Caracas Leones 10 to 1 at Leones Field.
The Caracas fans didn't appreciate the big day Gonzalez had. He rifled a
three-run blast in the 3rd inning and doubled which plated a run in the 8th
inning. San Ybel had 16 hits for the game and Caracas had 4.
The win went to Jose Berrios(3-2) who allowed 1 run in 7 innings. Sean
Newcomb(1-3) ended up with the loss. He was knocked around by San Ybel,
allowing 12 hits and 7 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
With this win, San Ybel has a 14-19 record. They have been 5-5 lately. With
the loss, Caracas has a record of 6-4 lately, 16-17, worst in the division
overall.
