Shortstop Freddy Galvis smacked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the San Ybel
Islanders beat the Caracas Leones by a score of 13 to 4.
Galvis was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He lifted one out of the park for a
two run home run in the 3rd inning, delivered a single in the 5th inning,
lined a base-hit in the 6th inning and cracked a solo homerun in the 8th
inning. San Ybel had many opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6
separate innings.
The winning pitcher was Danny Duffy(1-2) who allowed 3 runs in 6 innings.
Duffy got help from David Hess who earned his 3rd save. Marco Gonzales(2-3)
suffered the loss. San Ybel scored big getting 6 runs off him in 2 and 1/3
innings.
'I was in my hotel room the other night, working on my swing and made some
adjustments,' Galvis said. 'I'm always working on it. If they are getting you
out certain ways, you've got to make changes.'
