The Tombstone Huckleberries nipped the Oakland Athletics 2 to 1 at The O.K.
Corral in a hard fought contest.
Dellin Betances(3-1) was dominant in relief. He went 2 innings and surrended
up no hits and 1 walk and whiffed an impressive total of 4 Oakland batters
improving his ERA from 2.77 to 2.40. Oakland made it exciting in the 9th,
but they were unable to push the needed runs across.
Betances got relief help from Edwin Diaz who gained credit for his 12th save.
Antonio Senzatela(1-1) absorbed the loss in relief. He allowed 3 hits and 1
walk in 2 and 1/3 innings.
Joe Ingraffia was reflective after the loss, 'We should have won this one, we
just made one too many mistakes. Son-of-a-gun, that added a couple more
white hairs on this noggin of mine.'
