Jacob Degrom took a no-hitter into the 7th inning as the Aarlington Aardvarks
defeated the Tampico Stogies in 13 innings by the score of 3 to 2 at the
ballpark.
Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally, Aarlington
prevailed in the 13th inning. Tyler Flowers was hit by a pitch. Johan
Camargo followed and he grounded into a double play. Jose Iglesias then
blasted a solo shot resulting in an exciting win for Aarlington and a wild
post-game celebration by the home town fans. Tampico was out-hit by
Aarlington, 7 hits to 4.
The victory was credited to Edgar Santana(1-1) who went 1/3 of an inning,
allowing no runs. The right-handed Degrom lost his chance for a no-hitter
when Gregory Polanco singled with one out in the 7th inning. Matt Grace(0-2)
ended up with the loss in relief. He allowed 1 hit and no walks in 2/3 of an
inning.
