Brett Gardner ripped 2 homeruns and Mychal Givens performed beautifully in
relief at Busch Stadium where the Tampico Stogies beat the Chicago Colts 10
to 4.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Gardner. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 7th
inning and electrified the crowd with a Grand Slam home run in the 8th
inning. Tampico had 10 hits for the night.
The win went to Jason Hammel(9-9) who allowed 4 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings.
Givens recorded his 1st save. Austin Bibens-Dirkx(4-7) was tagged with the
loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 5 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings.
