Corey Kluber racked up an impressive total of 12 strikeouts at the ballpark as
the Tombstone Huckleberries beat the Dyersville Jurassics by the count of 7
to 3.
Ryan Schimpf enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He smacked a three-run
homer in the 1st inning and doubled bringing in two baserunners in the 7th
inning. Dyersville was out-hit by Tombstone, 13 hits to 6.
Kluber(14-11) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 6 innings. Kluber was
helped out by Yovani Gallardo who recorded his 8th save. Ivan Nova(5-18)
absorbed the loss. He surrendered 3 hits and 1 walk in 2/3 of an inning.
'He was really impressive tonight,' Nova said of his counterpart. 'Our guys
were just swinging at air.'
