Center fielder Kevin Kiermaier had 2 base hits as the Woodfield Roadkyll beat
the Tombstone Huckleberries by a score of 8 to 6.
Woodfield scored 4 runs in the decisive 6th inning. The big moment was
provided by Nori Aoki who electrified Englefield Green when he tripled
plating three runs. Tombstone threatened in the 9th but Woodfield was able
to put down the rally.
Jeff Hoffman(3-1) was the winner allowing 1 run in 2 and 2/3 innings. Aroldis
Chapman earned the save, his 11th. Jake Arrieta(5-7) was tagged with the
loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 8 runs in 5 and 1/3
innings.
'Just one or two mistakes were all it took to beat us tonight' Doug Salzwedel
said. 'We take these games one day at a time, but this one was hard to
take.'
