24,204 fans were treated to a fine game at the ballpark as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Dyersville Jurassics won by the
slimmest of margins, 6 to 5.
Both teams had scored 5 runs after nine full innings. Dyersville ended up
winning it in the 10th inning. Starling Marte ripped a one-base hit. Marte
got a great jump and stole second easily. Chris Taylor then smacked a
single, and an error was also committed, giving Dyersville the win as 24,204
happy fans joyfully celebrated. Columbus out-hit Dyersville 13 to 10, but
Dyersville ended up with more runs.
Brad Brach(1-0) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. The
loss was charged to Chad Green(0-2) in relief. He was a hard-luck loser as
he did not allow an earned run in his 2 innings of work.
