Hector Santiago dominated striking out 11 Vernon batters as the San Ybel
Islanders topped the Vernon Hillbillies by a score of 4 to 1 at PNC
Park.
Santiago(6-16) had a strong outing. He allowed just 4 hits and 4 walks in 8
innings. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.
Alex Colome preserved the game for Santiago, recording his his 21st save.
David Price(12-12) was charged with the loss. When asked about his strikeout
total for the game, Santiago offered, 'The fan's really got into it. It is
fun to see them tally up the strikeout totals up there in the stands.
Fortunately, I kept them busy tonight - of course, it would be all for naught
without the 'W'.'
