Kenta Maeda racked up an impressive total of 10 strikeouts as the Woodfield
Roadkyll topped the Tampico Stogies by a score of 2 to 1 at Englefield
Green.
Maeda(9-13) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He didn't allow much,
just 3 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings. The teams had been locked in a
scoreless duel until the 6th inning.
Maeda was helped out by Aroldis Chapman who recorded his 29th save. Jason
Hammel(3-9) was the loser. He pitched 6 innings and surrendered 6 hits and 3
walks.
The Woodfield fans were thrilled by the performance put forth by Maeda, but it
was clearly his strikeouts that they enjoyed most. 'When he reached 10
strikeouts the fans showed him their appreciation with a loud cheer.' Mike
Gahalla said following the game.
