Matt Joyce touched them all and Jose Fernandez dominated striking out 14
Chicago batters as the Gotham Gold Gloves beat the Chicago Colts by a score
of 5 to 3.
Fernandez(12-6) gave Gotham a solid outing. He allowed 5 hits and no walks in
6 innings. Gotham out-hit Chicago for the game, 10 hits to 7.
Fernandez got relief help from Ryan Buchter who gained credit for his 12th
save. Tyler Chatwood(7-11) absorbed the loss. He served up 3 gopher balls
in 8 innings.
The Gotham fans were thrilled by the performance put forth by Fernandez, but
it was clearly his strikeouts that they enjoyed most. 'When he reached 10
strikeouts the fans showed him their appreciation with a loud cheer.' Mike
Wilson said following the game.
