At Oakland Coliseum the Yuma Desert Rats outscored the Oakland Athletics 5 to
2.
Yuma came up with 3 runs in the 3rd inning with the help of 3 hits. Jonathan
Lucroy led off and started the rally when he drew a walk. Angel Pagan
stepped into the batter's box and he delivered a base-hit. Pagan took second
on the throw. George Springer then stroked a one-base hit driving home two
runs. Springer took second on the throw. After an out was recorded, Dexter
Fowler stepped up to the plate and he doubled scoring the final run of the
inning. The early run support proved sufficient for Marcus Stroman(7-5) and
Yuma. That was all the run support Stroman required. Although they lost,
Oakland did out-hit Yuma 11 to 8.
A.J. Ramos recorded his 9th save. Dan Straily(6-5) was the loser. He
surrendered 4 runs and 7 hits in 6 innings.
