First baseman Joey Votto had 5 hits and 4 RBI at The Horseshoe as the amazing
Dublin Pubcrawlers beat the Columbus Crowd 12 to 4.
Votto enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He stroked a base-hit in the 1st
inning, laced a one-base hit in the 2nd inning, doubled plating a run in the
5th inning, tripled clearing all three ducks off the pond in the 6th inning
and ripped a single in the 9th inning. Dublin bats were hot in the 6th
inning with 4 runs on 4 hits. Dublin simply wore out the Columbus pitching
staff, scoring in 6 different innings.
Trevor Cahill(1-1) went 5 and 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory. The
losing pitcher was Cole Hamels(11-17). He got hit pretty hard, allowing 13
hits and 2 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
'I felt great out there tonight,' Votto said, 'Maybe I should make a regular
habit of getting to bed on time!'
