The Yuma Desert Rats had an easy time of it at Oakland Coliseum defeating the
Oakland Athletics by a score of 7 to 1.
Matt Carpenter provided the offensive punch. He blasted a two-run home run in
the 4th inning and doubled bringing home two baserunners in the 9th inning.
Yuma out-hit Oakland for the game, 13 hits to 3.
The win went to J.A. Happ(9-5) who allowed 1 run in 7 innings. Happ was helped
out by Tony Watson who recorded his 4th save. Masahiro Tanaka(9-8) was
tagged with the loss.
