Matt Kemp ripped 2 homeruns and Lance Lynn racked up an impressive total of 12
strikeouts at Oakland Coliseum as the Yuma Desert Rats beat the Oakland
Athletics 4 to 3.
Lynn(10-8) looked very much in control throughout the night. He didn't give
up much, just 7 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings. Oakland tried unsuccessfully
to come back in the 9th.
Jared Hughes(0-1) was charged with the loss in relief. Although losing the
contest, he whiffed 5 batters in 2 and 2/3 innings.
Lynn, when asked about his 12 strikeout performance noted, 'The important
thing is that we won, if I get 20 and we lose, what good does it do our team?
But, on the other hand, since we won it feels great!'
