45,072 fans watched an exciting game at The Horseshoe. The Columbus Crowd
topped the Aarlington Aardvarks by the slimmest of margins, 6 to 5.
The game started off with Columbus taking the lead in the first with 3 runs on
5 base hits. Adam Eaton kicked off the action when he lined a single.
Ubaldo Jimenez then was wild with a pitch. Andre Ethier then lifted one out
of the park for a two run home run. Brock Holt came up and he lined a
one-base hit. After an out was recorded, Stephen Vogt stepped up to the
plate and he lined a base-hit. Danny Valencia continued the rally and
delivered a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning. Aarlington had a
chance in the 9th but they came up short.
Ervin Santana(5-3) got the win allowing 5 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. Brad
Boxberger earned his 4th save. Jimenez(4-6) was the losing pitcher. He was
knocked around by Columbus, allowing 12 hits and 5 walks in 4 and 2/3
innings.
'We lose our concentration for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Steve Linke
said after the game. 'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say they have
to concentrate on EVERY pitch.'
