Kevin Kiermaier rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Hendersonville
Commandoes topped the Palatine Cubs in 10 innings by a score of 13 to 11 at
Covert Ops Field.
The game was deadlocked at 11 after nine full innings. Hendersonville won the
hard fought contest in the 10th inning. Joc Pederson kicked off the action
when he drew a walk. Carlos Beltran was next and he drew a walk. Justin
Bour then drew a walk to load the bases. Brian Dozier came up and he ripped
a base-knock scoring a run. Hanley Ramirez came to the plate and laced a
one-base hit scoring the final run of the inning. Both teams ended up with
13 hits on the night.
The victory went to Aroldis Chapman(5-2) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing
1 run. Michael Lorenzen got the save, his 1st. Carlos Torres(1-1) was the
losing pitcher in relief.
