In a one-sided affiar at Oakland Coliseum the final score was the Tombstone
Huckleberries 9, the Oakland Athletics 3.
J.D. Martinez provided much of the offense. He doubled in the 2nd inning,
cleared the bases with a Grand Slam homerun in the 3rd inning and ripped a
base-knock in the 8th inning. Tombstone finished with 11 hits in the
victory.
Marco Estrada(7-7) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 innings and allowing
2 runs. Phil Hughes(2-2) was hit with the loss. He was touched for 5 hits
and 2 walks in 2 and 1/3 innings.
Wth the win Tombstone now has a record of a division leading 59-35. Oakland
will hope that this loss is only a 'blip' on their recent 9-1 run - and not a
start of a new trend.
