Clayton Kershaw struck out 10 batters as the Oakland Athletics defeated the
Streator Reds by a score of 5 to 3 at Oakland Coliseum.
Kershaw(9-5) had a solid outing for Oakland. He went 7 innings allowing 5
hits and no walks and allowed 2 gopher balls. Oakland finished with just 6
hits in the victory.
Brad Ziegler recorded his 8th save. Dallas Keuchel(8-7) was the losing
pitcher. He was knocked around, surrendering 5 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings.
When asked about his strikeout total for the game, Kershaw offered, 'The fan's
really got into it. It is fun to see them tally up the strikeout totals up
there in the stands. Fortunately, I kept them busy tonight - of course, it
would be all for naught without the 'W'.'
