First baseman Darin Ruf had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the Chicago Colts defeated the
Hendersonville Commandoes by the score of 9 to 1 at West Side Park.
Ruf had a good evening at the plate. He lifted one out of the park for a two
run home run in the 1st inning, delivered a single in the 5th inning, laced a
base-knock bringing in two baserunners in the 6th inning and delivered a
base-hit in the 8th inning. Chicago ended up with 17 hits for the game while
Hendersonville had 5.
Chad Bettis(4-4) allowed 1 run in 6 innings, and picked up the victory.
Jeanmar Gomez was credited with his 4th save. Jaime Garcia(6-9) took the
loss. He was unable to control the Chicago offense and allowed 10 hits and 2
walks in 5 innings.
