The Aarlington Aardvarks nipped the Streator Reds in 10 innings 3 to 2 at
Streater Park in a hard fought contest.
The score was tied at 2 after nine. Aarlington won the hard fought contest in
the 10th inning. A.J. Pierzynski laced a base-knock. Two outs later Ian
Desmond stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk. Cameron Maybin then
delivered a base-hit scoring the run. Maybin took second on the throw.
Aarlington managed only 6 hits on the night.
The victory went to David Phelps(1-1) who went 3 and 2/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Trevor Rosenthal preserved the game for Phelps, recording his his 10th
save. The losing pitcher was Jake Arrieta(6-6). He allowed just 5 hits and
1 walk in 9 and 1/3 innings.
