Xander Bogaerts had 4 hits and 5 RBI and Matt Harvey had an impressive outing
at Leones Field as the Caracas Leones embarrassed the Hendersonville
Commandoes by the lopsided score of 12 to 1.
It seemed that Hendersonville pitching was serving up softballs for Bogaerts
to hit. He doubled in the 2nd inning, stroked a one-base hit which plated a
run in the 5th inning, clubbed a three-run home run in the 6th inning and
lined a base-hit resulting in a run in the 8th inning. Caracas finished with
16 hits while Hendersonville ended up with 3.
The win was credited to Harvey(3-1) who went 7 innings allowing 1 run. Rubby
De La Rosa(2-4) was the losing pitcher. He got hit hard, allowing 11 hits
and 4 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.
'I felt great out there tonight,' Bogaerts said, 'Maybe I should make a
regular habit of getting to bed on time!'
