Shortstop Alexei Ramirez had 3 base hits and 2 RBI at The Horseshoe as the
Palatine Cubs beat the pitiful Columbus Crowd 7 to 5.
Palatine scored the winning runs in the 9th inning plating 2 runs utilizing 3
base hits. Juan Lagares started the inning off right when he ripped a
base-hit. Chris Young followed and he lined a single. After an out was
recorded, Welington Castillo then doubled. Ramirez stepped in and he hit a
sacrifice fly. Palatine ended up with 16 hits for the game while Columbus
had 13.
The victory was credited to Pedro Strop(9-2) who went 1 and 2/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Seth Maness(2-2) absorbed the loss in relief. Palatine
scored big getting 3 runs off him in 2 and 1/3 innings.
