Right fielder Hunter Pence had 3 base hits and 2 RBI at Lawton Stadium as the
North Dallas Fire Ants beat the California Luv 6 to 4.
North Dallas scored the winning runs in the 9th inning with 2 runs using 3
hits. Pence led off and started the attack as he slapped a base-hit. After
an out was recorded, Marcell Ozuna stepped up to the plate and he laced a
one-base hit. James Loney then hit a single. Jose Reyes followed next and
he worked the squeeze play to perfection. North Dallas had 13 hits for the
night.
Anthony Desclafani(1-0) went 4 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the
victory. Hector Noesi(5-12) was given the loss in relief. He was not very
effective, surrendering 3 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.
