Victor Martinez cracked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Yuma Desert Rats
defeated the Streator Reds by the score of 8 to 2 at Streater Park.
Martinez was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He smacked a three-run homer in the
2nd inning, hit a single in the 6th inning and hit a bases-empty home run in
the 8th inning. Yuma managed 9 hits in their victory.
Gerrit Cole(6-4) got the win allowing 2 runs in 6 innings. Josh Beckett(6-8)
ended up with the loss. In another of a string of victories, Yuma extended
their winning streak to 6 games.
