Josh Tomlin pitched 5 strong innings and third baseman Danny Valencia
connected with a 'big fly' and had 4 RBI as the Columbus Crowd defeated the
San Ybel Islanders by the score of 5 to 4 at The Horseshoe.
 
Valencia made sure the Columbus fans enjoyed themselves.  He doubled which
scored a run in the 2nd inning and lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 7th
inning.  San Ybel had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.  
 
The victory was credited to Tomlin(5-6) who went 5 innings, allowing no runs.
Tomlin got help from Tom Wilhelmsen who was credited with his 12th save.
John Lackey(9-7) was the losing pitcher.  
 
'Anytime you lose it hurts,' said Craig Ahrndt 'but it's losing the close ones
that really hurt.'
