The Hoffman Estates Penguins got by the Dublin Pubcrawlers in 10 innings at
Chase Field. The final score was 8 to 6.
The score was knotted at 6 after nine innings. Hoffman Estates was victorious
in the 10th inning. Seth Smith led off the inning for Hoffman Estates when
he drew a walk. Starlin Castro stepped up next and he doubled. Nolan
Arenado then hit a deep fly. One out later, Andrew McCutchen came to bat and
doubled. Giancarlo Stanton stepped into the box and was walked
intentionally. Wilin Rosario extended the rally and laced a base-hit to load
the bases. Hoffman Estates managed 11 hits in their victory.
The win was credited to Antonio Bastardo(2-1) who went 1 and 2/3 innings
allowing 1 run. Bastardo got help from Jeurys Familia who earned his 3rd
save. John Axford(1-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. His biggest
problem was control as he allowed 5 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.
Wth the win Hoffman Estates now has a record of 50-41. Dublin continued their
losing ways and their record is now 32-59, worst in the division. They are
2-8 in their last ten games.
