One run was the difference at Lawton Stadium as the San Ybel Islanders
defeated the slumping California Luv 3 to 2.
In the top of the 6th inning San Ybel scored 1 run. California tried
unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th. John Lackey(7-4) went 6 and 1/3
innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Joaquin Benoit earned his 22nd save.
Hector Noesi(3-6) was given the loss. He allowed 3 runs and 10 hits in 9
innings.
'We didn't get the key hits when we needed them' Greg Edens said. 'We did what
we could, we just didn't pull out the win. What can you say?'
