Center fielder Jackie Bradley Jr hit 2 doubles as the Columbus Crowd defeated
the Hoffman Estates Penguins by a score of 5 to 4 at The Horseshoe.
Cole Hamels(4-9) pitched a fine game. He went 8 and 1/3 innings surrendering
12 hits and 1 walk. Hoffman Estates made it exciting in the 9th, but they
were unable to push the needed runs across.
Hamels got help from Joe Nathan who earned his 4th save. Charlie Morton(6-2)
was the losing pitcher. When questioned about the loss, Steve Seydell said,
'The fans got to see an exciting game out there tonight. Unfortunately, we
couldn't get it done this time. Next time, though, we'll be the clubhouse
with all the smiles.'
