At Streater Park, the Streator fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel. Edinson
Volquez(3-6) finally bested his Dyersville opposite, Wily Peralta(2-6), by
the score of 3 to 1.
Streator scored 2 runs in the 4th inning when they came up with 3 base hits.
They would hold up as the winning runs. Neither team managed to score after
the 4th inning.
Fernando Rodney preserved the game for Volquez, recording his his 2nd save.
Peralta was charged with the loss. He pitched 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 7
hits and no walks.
The Streator ballclub's record now stands at 32-32. With this loss,
Dyersville has a 4-6 record of late, 28-36 overall.
