Left fielder Chris Carter homered and had 3 RBI as the Hendersonville
Commandoes outscored the Detroit Iron Gloves 8 to 6.
Detroit was unable to recover after Hendersonville went ahead in the top of
the 2nd inning when they came up with 2 runs on 2 hits. Detroit had a chance
to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
C.J. Wilson(4-4) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 5 innings. Rafael
Soriano was credited with his 9th save. Clay Buchholz(2-3) ended up with the
loss. He was not very effective, surrendering 7 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.
'Anytime you lose it hurts,' said Mike Wilson 'but it's losing the close ones
that really hurt.'
