Anthony Rendon had 3 base hits and 3 RBI as the Yuma Desert Rats outscored the
Dyersville Jurassics 11 to 5.
Dyersville was unable to claim the lead after Yuma went ahead in the 2nd
inning scoring 2 runs utilizing 3 base hits. Rendon led off and keyed the
rally when he ripped a one-base hit. Bartolo Colon then picked Rendon off
first base. After an out was recorded, David Lough then drew a walk. Erick
Aybar stepped in and he lined a base-hit. Jose Altuve stepped into the box
and reached on an error. Matt Carpenter kept the inning going and stroked a
single. Matt Kemp got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. Yuma
lit up the scoreboard in the 6th inning with 4 runs on 5 hits. Overall Yuma
out-hit Dyersville 21 to 10.
Bud Norris(2-1) went 7 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory. Colon(1-4) was
the loser. He allowed Yuma 7 runs in 5 innings of work.
