Matt Adams cracked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Tombstone Huckleberries
bested the Vernon Hillbillies 10 to 3 at Long Grove CG.
Adams had a big day with his bat. He laced a one-base hit in the 1st inning,
cracked a solo homerun in the 3rd inning, tripled knocking in a run in the
5th inning and hit a bases-empty home run in the 7th inning. Tombstone
finished with 12 hits while Vernon ended up with 8.
Carlos Carrasco(6-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 innings and
allowing 1 run. R.A. Dickey(3-3) was hit with the loss. He gave up 5 runs
and 6 hits in 2/3 of an inning.
Tombstone remained hot, improving their record to a division leading 22-13.
They now have a record of 8-2 in recent days. Vernon has a record of 24-11
after the loss.
