The Burbank Tigers edged the San Ybel Islanders at the ballpark by the score
of 5 to 4.
Tommy Hunter(1-1) came on to close the door tight in relief. He was stingy on
the mound, allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk in 3 innings seeing his ERA drop
from 3.20 to 2.78. San Ybel had a chance to come back in the 9th but they
came up short.
Hunter got help from Pat Neshek who earned his 2nd save. John Lackey(4-1)
ended up with the loss. 'We won because we did the little things right.' Wes
Davies said after the game. 'This is why we practice things over and over
and over, so when we get in close games we don't make mistakes.'
