In a two run game the Streator Reds got by the Chicago Colts by the score of
10 to 8.
Streator came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 9th inning with 2
runs on 2 base hits. Denard Span led off and got things going when he
delivered a one-base hit. After an out was recorded, Carlos Santana stepped
up to the plate and he clubbed a two-run home run. After another out, Todd
Frazier then drew a walk. Streator had 16 hits for the night while Chicago
had 12.
Tyler Lyons(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 4 and 2/3 innings. Craig
Kimbrel recorded his 3rd save. Latroy Hawkins(0-1) was hit with the loss in
relief. He pitched 2 innings giving up 4 hits and no walks.
