Steve Pearce smacked 2 homeruns at Chase Field as the Yuma Desert Rats beat
the Dublin Pubcrawlers in 10 innings by the count of 6 to 5.
The score was knotted at 5 after nine innings. Yuma came out the victor in
the 10th inning. Pearce delivered a solo blast. After an out was recorded,
Jonathan Lucroy came to bat and doubled. George Springer then drew a walk.
Anthony Rendon was the next batter, but he struck out. Michael Saunders
followed, but he was set down on strikes. This was the kind of game that
many fans love as the lead changed hands 6 times.
Tony Watson(1-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.
Watson got help from Joakim Soria who was credited with his 2nd save. Al
Alburquerque(0-2) was charged with the loss in relief.
