Sean Rodriguez knocked 3 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Francisco Liriano
dominated striking out 10 San Ybel batters as the Dublin Pubcrawlers defeated
the San Ybel Islanders by the score of 8 to 3 at Progressive
Field.
Rodriguez was unconscious all evening. The San Ybel fans hated to see him
approaching the batter's box as he just kept delivering base hits! He lofted
a three-run bomb in the 2nd inning, smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the
4th inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 6th inning. Dublin had
9 hits for the night.
Liriano(1-1) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. The
loss was charged to Henderson Alvarez(1-1). He served up 4 homeruns in his 4
and 1/3 innings.
Liriano was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good command of
all my pitches. Just as important, my location was right on.'
