separated the combatants at game's end. The San Ybel Islanders offense put
up 4 runs on the scoreboard in the 5th inning and won by the slimmest of
margins, 6 to 5.
The game was won by San Ybel when they scored a run in the 8th inning.
Michael Brantley drew a walk. Tommy Medica next to the plate and he
delivered a single. After an out was recorded, Pablo Sandoval then laced a
single. Sandoval took second on the throw. Alcides Escobar was up next and
he was walked intentionally. Jason Castro dug into the batters box next, but
he struck out. Joaquin Benoit pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with
his 2nd save.
Zach Britton(2-0) allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning, and picked up the
victory. Madison Bumgarner(0-1) suffered the loss. He was knocked around by
San Ybel, allowing 10 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings.
