Wilin Rosario hit 2 doubles as the Hoffman Estates Penguins beat the Caracas
Leones by a score of 6 to 5.
Hoffman Estates jumped on top of Caracas in the 5th inning with 2 runs
utilizing 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, Rosario keyed the rally
when he doubled. One out later, Derek Norris came to the plate and cleared
the fences for a two-run home run. Melky Cabrera then drew a walk. Adam
Laroche followed next and he drew a walk. Hoffman Estates had a total of 9
hits for the game.
The win was credited to Tom Koehler(1-0) who went 5 innings allowing 5 runs.
Huston Street was credited with his 1st save. Jorge De La Rosa(0-1) was the
loser.
'I always am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without his
best stuff,' Steve Seydell said after the game. 'Koehler did not have
command of his pitches most of the night, but he proved he really knew how to
pitch!'
