Andrew McCutchen smacked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Hoffman Estates
Penguins staged a dramatic comeback over the Nimrod Numnuts by a score of 10
to 9 at The Coliseum.
Hoffman Estates came up with the deciding runs in the bottom of the 9th inning
as they scored 4 runs on 3 base hits. The biggest moment was provided by
Brett Wallace who elicited a roar from the hometown fans when he smacked a
three-run homer. Hoffman Estates banged out 16 hits on the night.
Roberto Hernandez(5-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 3 and 2/3 innings
and allowing no runs. Sam Lecure(0-4) was the loser in relief.
Hernandez and McCutchen were really whooping it up in the clubhouse after the
great come from behind victory. As Steve Seydell noted, 'A win like this one
can do wonders for a team's attitude.' Everyone shares in the joy - the fans,
the players - even you guys - it's better than winning by a dozen runs!'
